Date A Live IV – Kurumi Tokisaki Calligraphic Beauty Ver. 1/7 Scale Figure Review

nobo5656@hotmail.com

From Date A Live IV comes KDcolle’s Kurumi Tokisaki Calligraphic Beauty Ver., a 1/7 scale figure that blends traditional Chinese dress styling with Kurumi’s dangerously seductive charm. Sitting at a desk with brush and scroll, she looks like a refined calligrapher at rest – but the tight red dress, deep cleavage and high slits leave no doubt that this is also a very sexy display piece.

This pre-painted ABS & PVC figure puts a lot of focus on Kurumi’s curves: a pushed-up bust, a narrow waist and hips that spill out from the cheongsam-like dress, with long, smooth legs exposed through the slits. If you like “elegant but still very spicy” Kurumi figures, this version hits that balance nicely.

Inside the blister – Kurumi, the desk-style base and accessories are all fixed securely, protecting thin parts like the brush, hair and dress edges.

The packaging is simple but effective: a wide front window, elegant colors that match the figure’s red and gold tone, and clear photos on the back to show how the whole writing scene looks once assembled. The inner blister holds everything tightly, which is important for a seated pose with multiple props and a dress full of small folds.

Front View & Overall Look

Full front view – Kurumi sits at the desk in a red Chinese dress, chest pushed together and legs crossed, creating an elegant but clearly provocative silhouette.
Front close-up of Kurumi Tokisaki Calligraphic Beauty Ver. face
Face close-up – her trademark mismatched eyes and playful smile are printed cleanly, with soft shading on her skin and detailed eyelashes.
Bust-up close-up of Kurumi Tokisaki showing large chest and tight red Chinese dress
Bust-up shot – the dress is pulled tight across a very generous chest, pushing her breasts together and opening a deep, clearly sculpted cleavage right in the center of the figure.
Front close-up of Kurumi Tokisaki upper body, cleavage and calligraphy brush
Upper body detail – gold trim, frog closures and the calligraphy brush in her hand all surround the bust, making it feel like a deliberate focal point in an otherwise classy composition.
Front-angled close-up of Kurumi Tokisaki legs and dress slit
Legs and dress slit – the cheongsam-style slit opens wide to show off smooth thighs and calves, while the red fabric hugs her hips tightly above.

From the front, this version of Kurumi gives off a calm, almost relaxed mood – but the body sculpt tells a different story. The bust is obviously large and rounded, with the red dress pressing in from both sides to create a strong cleavage line. The way she leans slightly forward on the desk pushes that chest toward the viewer, while the high slit lets her legs and hips peek out from the tight fabric. It’s a great mix of elegance and fanservice: she looks composed and refined, but the outfit makes it clear she knows exactly how much she’s showing.

Side Views – Body Line & Calligraphy Scene

Side full-body view of Kurumi Tokisaki Calligraphic Beauty Ver. sitting at the desk
Side full-body view – from this angle you can see the gentle curve of her back, the forward push of the bust and the way her legs stretch out from under the desk.
Side close-up of Kurumi Tokisaki face and hair
Side face close-up – her hair falls in soft curls around her cheek, framing that mischievous smile while she casually holds the brush in one hand.
Side bust close-up of Kurumi Tokisaki showing chest profile and tight dress
Bust profile – from the side you really feel the volume of her chest; the dress stretches over it in a smooth curve before clinging to her narrow waist.
Side close-up of Kurumi Tokisaki midsection and calligraphy scroll on the desk
Midsection & desk – the scroll and inkstone on the desk help sell the calligraphy theme, while the dress traces the line of her stomach and hips underneath the table edge.
Side close-up of Kurumi Tokisaki legs crossing under the desk
Legs from the side – her legs cross elegantly, but the slit rides high, flashing plenty of thigh and hinting at the curve of her hips under the dress.

Viewed from the side, Kurumi’s pose has a nice flow: her torso leans slightly over the desk as if she has just finished writing, the bust hangs forward with convincing volume, and her legs stretch out comfortably. The desk, brush and scroll turn this into a small diorama rather than just a standalone figure, but your eyes are still drawn back to the way the red dress hugs her chest and hips. The profile shows clearly that this sculpt is built around those curves.

Back View – Hair, Dress & Hip Line

Full back view – long twin tails, a glossy red dress and the wooden desk all line up into a refined yet slightly dangerous scene.
Rear three-quarter full view of Kurumi Tokisaki figure showing dress and legs
Rear three-quarter view – from this angle, you can clearly appreciate how the fabric pulls across her backside before opening into the side slits.
Back close-up of Kurumi Tokisaki hair and upper dress
Upper back – layered hair curls nicely over the back of the dress, with subtle sculpting around her shoulders to show the tight fit of the fabric there as well.
Back close-up of Kurumi Tokisaki hips and dress seam
Hips from behind – the dress clings tightly around her butt and hips, with seams and folds emphasizing how full that area is even while she’s seated.
Low back angle of Kurumi Tokisaki thighs and dress slit
Low back angle – the slit opens enough to show the underside of her thighs and the curve of her hips, giving the back view almost as much impact as the front.

From behind, Kurumi looks a little more “quiet”, but the sculpt still pushes her curves. The dress wraps smoothly around her waist and butt before breaking into flowing folds along the slits, and the way the fabric rides up over her hips makes it obvious that she’s sitting on a very rounded rear. Combined with the long hair and neat desk, it gives off the vibe of a refined beauty who knows exactly how much she’s showing, even when you’re not looking her in the eye.

Hip Focus Shots

Rear close-up of Kurumi Tokisaki hips pressing against the dress while seated
Hip close-up – the way the dress stretches over her butt and bunches slightly where she sits really sells the weight and softness in that area.
Rear low-angle close-up of Kurumi Tokisaki hips and upper thighs
Lower hip angle – here you can see how the fabric follows the round curve of her cheeks before breaking into the side slit, giving the figure a clearly sexy back view without resorting to full exposure.
Back close-up of Kurumi Tokisaki butt and tight red dress
Another hip shot – the dress almost looks painted onto her, with shading around the seams that makes the roundness of her butt stand out even more.
Back and side close-up of Kurumi Tokisaki thighs and dress slit
Hips & thighs – this angle combines the curve of her hips with the exposed thigh through the slit, making it a perfect shot if you’re a fan of lower-body sculpting.

This figure may look calm and classy at first glance, but the hip area makes it very clear that it’s meant to be enjoyed as a sexy piece too. The dress doesn’t just loosely hang; it’s sculpted to cling, stretch and fold in ways that highlight the size and shape of Kurumi’s butt and thighs even in a seated pose.

Verdict

Kurumi Tokisaki Calligraphic Beauty Ver. is a great option if you want something that combines Date A Live’s fanservice with a more mature, art-themed presentation. It offers:

  • Beautiful leg and hip sculpting, with high slits and tight fabric making the most of her lower-body curves
  • Clean paintwork on the face, dress patterns and gold trim, plus nice shading on skin and folds
  • A seated pose that still has a strong shelf presence thanks to the desk and rich color contrast

If you’re a Kurumi collector or just enjoy elegant figures that are still unashamedly sexy, this Calligraphic Beauty Ver. is easy to recommend. The balance between traditional dress, calligraphy props and very bold curves makes it a standout piece in the Date A Live figure lineup.
