Grim Aloe 1/6 Figure Review

JGPC Figures

This time, we are taking a look at Grim Aloe from Quiz Magic Academy, released by WING. Her enormous white twin-tails, glossy red demon wings, heart-shaped tail, and mischievous expression give this figure an immediately recognizable silhouette.

The figure also includes several optional parts that significantly change the presentation. By switching the face, hands, and removable skirt, collectors can choose between a calmer standing display and a much more playful version of the character.

Packaging

The front of the box uses a dark red design inspired by the magical and demonic elements of the character. A large clear window displays the main figure, alternate face parts, skirt, and several smaller accessories before opening.

The gold Quiz Magic Academy logo and orange trim contrast effectively with the deep red background. Even inside the packaging, the white twin-tails and bright red wings immediately stand out.

The back of the box keeps the presentation relatively simple. Its red magical-circle graphics, dark city silhouette, and large series logo continue the atmosphere established on the front.

Blister & Optional Parts

The clear blister contains the main figure, circular base, support rods, removable skirt, alternate face parts, replacement hands, and instructions. The large hair and wings occupy most of the tray, but the smaller optional pieces are separated clearly.

The optional parts are an important feature of this release. Changing the face and hand configuration creates a noticeably different personality, while the skirt can be removed or displayed as part of her teasing pose.

The support rods included in the package help stabilize the long hair sections. They are useful because the twin-tails extend far beyond the body and create much of the figure’s overall width.

Overall Front View

The main front view presents Grim Aloe in a relaxed standing pose. Her shoulders lean slightly forward, while the position of her hands and the small smile give her a quietly mischievous attitude.

The body itself has a compact silhouette, but the enormous twin-tails and extended bat wings make the finished display feel much larger. The sweeping hair sections curve outward on both sides, forming a wide frame around the character.

Her red-and-black outfit is deliberately minimal, allowing the demon accessories and exposed midriff to remain easy to see. The open black jacket adds a casual streetwear element that contrasts with the fantasy styling of the horns, wings, and tail.

Face & Default Expression

The default face uses narrowed red eyes and a small sideways smile. It gives Grim Aloe an amused, self-confident expression without appearing overly exaggerated.

The long bangs partly cover her forehead and create a slightly shadowed look around the eyes. Together with the red horns and dark eye makeup, this helps reinforce her small-demon appearance.

The subtle mouth shape works particularly well with the pointing hand. Her finger leads the eye toward the pink crest printed across the lower stomach, which becomes one of the central details of the front view.

White Twin-Tails & Red Horns

The large white twin-tails are the most visually dominant parts of the figure. Each side is built from broad overlapping sections that curl outward before narrowing into sharper tips.

A soft pearlescent finish gives the hair a faint lavender tone when it catches the light. This prevents the white areas from looking flat and creates a clean contrast with the glossy red accessories.

The small curved horns are painted in a deep metallic red. Their compact size keeps them from competing with the hair, while still making the demon theme immediately recognizable.

Costume & Three-Quarter View

The three-quarter view gives a clearer look at the contrast between the costume materials. The red top and lower pieces have a polished finish, while the oversized black jacket uses a softer surface with sculpted folds around the sleeves and hem.

Gold zipper teeth and the small gold charm provide additional detail along the jacket. Red-and-white striped cuffs also connect the darker clothing with the brighter demon accessories.

The side ribbons are carefully sculpted with small gold tips. Although they are minor elements, they add movement around the hips and help prevent the lower costume from appearing too plain.

Demon Wings & Heart-Shaped Tail

The glossy red wings create a strong frame behind the upper body. Their pointed edges and deep curves give them a sharp silhouette, while the translucent-looking red finish catches highlights effectively.

The long tail is one of the most playful design elements. It curls across the front of the legs before forming a clear heart shape beside the body and ending in a sharp arrow-like tip.

Because the tail crosses through the open area between the arms and legs, it helps visually connect the upper and lower halves of the figure. It also gives the otherwise simple standing pose a greater sense of movement.

Base & Footwear

The circular base uses a translucent red surface covered with a hexagonal pattern. A silver outer frame gives it a technological appearance that fits the Quiz Magic Academy setting.

Grim Aloe wears red ribbon sandals that wrap around the ankles and lower legs. The narrow straps leave much of the feet visible while repeating the same bright red used for the horns, wings, and tail.

The base is relatively compact compared with the figure’s overall width. Collectors should therefore leave additional space around both sides for the twin-tails and extended wings.

Rear View & Hair Volume

From behind, the twin-tails almost completely dominate the composition. The broad white sections extend well beyond the shoulders and cover much of the jacket, wings, and upper back.

This angle shows how much volume has been sculpted into the hair. The layered strands curve in several directions, creating a soft and cloud-like shape around the smaller body.

The black jacket remains visible beneath the hair and hangs loosely across the back. The red tail curves downward between the legs before returning toward the front, making its full route easier to understand from this direction.

The rear presentation is less focused on the face or costume and more on the balance between the enormous hair, dark jacket, red wings, and narrow central silhouette.

Alternate Expression & Skirt Display

The alternate configuration changes the figure’s personality considerably. The replacement face uses an open mouth and extended tongue, producing a louder and more openly playful expression.

Replacement hand parts allow Grim Aloe to hold the removable black skirt in front of her body. The gathered folds and ruffled edge create a new horizontal element across the composition.

This setup feels more animated than the standard version. Both hands are raised, the expression is more energetic, and the skirt draws attention toward the center of the figure.

From closer range, the glossy red top, gold jacket trim, white hair, and heart-shaped tail create a strong combination of contrasting colors. The alternate display also makes the hand sculpt and the folds of the skirt easier to appreciate.

Alternate Face Close-Up

The alternate face is particularly expressive. The open mouth, small fang-like teeth, and extended tongue give Grim Aloe a much more exaggerated and mischievous appearance than the default smile.

The red eyes remain sharply printed, while the darker lines around them preserve the character’s distinctive demonic look. The tongue has a glossy finish that separates it clearly from the softer paint used on the face.

Collectors who prefer a calmer display may favor the standard expression. The alternate face, however, communicates the character’s troublesome personality more directly and gives the figure considerably more energy.

Paintwork & Small Details

The figure relies on a controlled palette of white, black, red, and gold. Because these colors are repeated across the hair, clothing, wings, horns, tail, and base, the finished display remains cohesive despite its unusual design.

The glossy red surfaces are especially effective. They reflect light strongly and create a clear distinction from the matte black jacket and softly shaded skin.

Smaller elements such as the stomach crest, gold zipper, jacket charm, ribbon tips, painted nails, sandal straps, and eye details reward closer inspection.

Final Thoughts

Overall, WING’s Grim Aloe 1/6 figure is a highly distinctive release with excellent character presence. The enormous white twin-tails, glossy demon wings, heart-shaped tail, compact red-and-black costume, and patterned display base create a memorable silhouette from the front.

The optional face, hands, and removable skirt add considerable value. The standard setup feels calm and calculating, while the alternate configuration gives Grim Aloe a much more animated and troublesome personality.

For collectors who enjoy Quiz Magic Academy, demon-themed character designs, or figures with several display options, this release offers plenty to explore despite its relatively simple standing pose.
